Google Book Download
Posted: August 31, 2006 Filed under: Digital Imaging, Technology 2 Comments »This is really interesting. When you look at a scanned book it also provides links to buy the book or find it in a library in your zipcode.

Open WorldCat is definitely a good thing. However, when I go to look at a book’s record under google booksearch, I don’t see where you can put in your zip. Maybe I’m just missing it, but, then, that’s a usability issue.
There’s also an open source applet for Firefox that will recognize books’ titles & link it back to your library. For more info, check out what I wrote about the LibX Firefox extension here.
They must not offer that feature on all books, but The Inferno has it. Click on “Find this book in a library” on the right.
