Job Description
Under supervision of exhibition Curator, will carry out various aspects of
exhibition installation including but not limited to matting, framing,
constructing display units, signage and other exhibition elements out of
plexiglass, wood, metal and other similar materials. Fabricates simple
display forms from archival paper and mat board. Installs materials on
gallery walls and in museum cases. Performs related duties as required.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, certificate or other proof of formal education in
accredited museum program and/or successfully demonstrated experience in all
areas of exhibition installation in a museum, library, gallery or equivalent
institution with standards and practices similar to those of the New York
Public Library. Understanding of and experience in handling art objects and
other museum quality items. Ability to work with speed and accuracy.
Understanding of and ability to use required tools safely and with
precision. Ability to plan ahead and follow work agenda with or without
close supervision.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree, certificate or other proof of formal education in
