Photograph Archive Internship: National Baseball Hall of Fame

Spend a summer in Cooperstown, at the home of baseball!

Photograph Archive Internship Opportunity

The National Baseball Hall of Fame invites graduate students interested in pursuing an archival career and enrolled in an Archival, Library and Information Science, American History, Public History, or American Studies program, to apply for an internship in the photograph archive. The archive houses a variety of materials including: photographs, negatives, slides and a variety of other formats. Interns will have the opportunity to experience an archival environment outside of a traditional academic setting. Interns may gain experience in arrangement and description, basic preservation skills, cataloging, accession procedures, records and database management. This will help prioritize collections for further processing and conservation. Students may be asked to assist with archival reference requests.

The ten-week paid internship program begins in June and ends in August. Read the rest of this entry »
