I am a graduate student at Pratt Institute studying Information and Library Science. I pursing the Master’s of Science in Library and Information Science. I also am planning on pursing the Museum Libraries Certificate. I am interested in Academic, Museums, and Art Librarianship. I am looking for new employment opportunities in these fields. However, since I am not yet done with my masters, it is difficult to do so. I am hoping to gain experience in Academic, Museums, and Art Libraries.

Provides reader services to Museum staff and the public, including reference, access, circulation, and referrals. Helps to implement orientations for staff, interns, and the public. Works closely with library staff to review and improve services. Keeps abreast of developments in relevant subject areas and art librarianship. Initiates and implements special projects.
Requirements: Graduate degree in Library Science required. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Art History or relevant subject preferred. Previous art library experience. Public service experience preferred. Knowledge of modern and contemporary art (including any or all of the Museum’s curatorial areas). Familiarity with automated library systems and electronic resources. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Conversational fluency in one or more of the following foreign languages preferred: French, German, Korean, Japanese, or Chinese. Reading knowledge of foreign languages preferred.

The School is a private professional college in Sarasota, Florida, fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
The preferred candidate will have experience planning and providing instruction and research services in a college or university library and will have an MLS and a degree in visual arts or art history.
