Salary Range: $53,300 – $80,000/yr
Required Education: Master’s Degree
Other Educational Credentials:
Professional training in imaging and image collections theory and practic. A bachelor’s degree in a subject related to the Museum’s core competencies
Masters Degree in a program of Library and Information Studies preferred
Experience: Supervisory Experience: 2 year(s) preferred
Professional Experience: 5 year(s) preferred
Other Requirements:
Experience with Digital Asset Management Systems and a strong project management background will be important to the implementation of a Museum-wide DAMS. Experience should include: five years image archives experience; two years in-depth experience with relational database software; and grant writing and/or fund raising skills. Prior museum work experience is desirable. Strong people skills are essential.

Job Description/Duties:
The essential functions of the Image Archivist are as follows: (1) build and professionally manage high-quality digital and analog image collections that document the Museum and serve the needs of the Museum and its audiences, (2) develop and provide services that ensure user/researcher satisfaction, (3) raise awareness of the Image Archives services and collections, (4) create and maintain a professional, productive, and motivated work force, (5) develop work and budget plans and manage resources to meet those plans, (6) serve the image archives and archives professions through memberships, presentations at meetings, teaching, and holding offices in professional organizations.

Other Information:
The Museum is hoping to institute a Museum-wide digital asset management system, which will be done under the leadership of the Image Archivist when funds are obtained.
