Visual Resources Librarian
Subject to budgetary and final approval by the Board of Governors, this is an initial three-year appointment, renewable for continuing appointment.

Description: NSCAD University is seeking an outstanding candidate to be responsible for the management of the Visual Resource Collection (VRC). Based in the University Library and reporting to the University Librarian, the successful candidate will manage the collection and coordinate the services provided through the VRC, including reference services, faculty support and library instruction. The current collection consists of an extensive slide library, film, video and audio materials. A major initiative is the transition from an analog to a digital collection.
Qualifications: An extensive knowledge of digital asset management practices and applications; demonstrated supervisory and administrative skills; familiarity with best practices regarding access and copyright in an academic setting; and experience with VRC cataloguing practices e.g. VRACore, AAt, CCo and TGN are required. An ALA-accredited degree in Library and Information Science and two years experience with visual resource collections are required. A Bachelor or Masters degree in art history or the visual arts will be considered an asset.
Salary will be dependent upon qualifications and in accordance with the Faculty Salary Grid. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
