Salary Range: This full time tenure-track position is available at the Assistant or Senior Assistant Librarian level, with an anticipated hiring range of $52,000-$60,000 annually, plus a generous benefits package. Appointment rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position Description: Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Public Services, the Humanities and Social Sciences Librarian leads the overall Library outreach and service activities designed to support the unique information resource needs of the students, faculty and staff of the College of Liberal Arts.
Responsibilities include reference, instruction, collection development, digital services, and other activities.

Required Qualifications/Specialized Skills – MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited school, or comparable library experience with other related advanced subject degree
- BA/BS in a field in the humanities or social sciences
- Demonstrated commitment to public service
- Experience instructing adult learners
- Demonstrated facility with web-based technologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to spend substantial time outside the library to support faculty and students
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team working with culturally diverse faculty, students, and staff

Preferred Qualifications/Skills – Advanced degree in any field of the humanities or social sciences
- Experience working in an academic library
- Classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary inquiry in the humanities and social sciences
- Collection development experience
- Experience with instructional technologies and digital media
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement new projects
