| Longwood Gardens seeks a Visual Resource Specialist to take the lead in digitizing, cataloguing, and providing access to a variety of visual resources. The Visual Resource Specialist will develop and maintain content and usage guidelines for the DAM system, ensure cataloguing consistency, oversee and operate within the digitization working group, and continually evaluate usability. The VRS will also coordinate content development priorities, conduct training sessions, and provide research and technical assistance to patrons. The successful candidate will possess a strong desire to facilitate access to cultural resources using new media technologies and established metadata schemas and standards.
Qualifications: MLIS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution with coursework in cataloguing, indexing and abstracting, and/or archival description, or relevant subject Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, production, or new media technologies; and have experience in organizing and providing access to visual resources using a relational database or DAM system. Salary and Duration: Part-time, permanent, 32 hours/week, salary commensurate with education and experience. To Apply: Search will continue until a suitable candidate is found.
