The only position we are voting on is co-moderator; if you interested in being considered for co-moderator, please do so by leaving a post announcing your candidacy here. For all of you who have indicated you'd like to take on one of the volunteer positions above, feel free to use the blog to start brainstorming about what you'd like to do in your new roles. quick question: do we vote on these positions? are we assigned? or can we simply start working on the ones we are interested in, hopefully collaborating with others that showed interested as well?

I’m interested in serving as a discussion coordinator. I could contribute content on topics such as architecture and/or diversity (with diversity being broadly defined: in the profession, in libraries, in the arts, etc.).

Fantastic!

I think that because these are all new positions, we don’t really know the expectations. We hope that folks will put in the time that they can, and work with the co-moderators to help the positions evolve. Certainly if things ever get overwhelming for one person, we could ask for a co-coordinator, or help on a project. So, we hope that no one will be afraid that they’ll over-commit themselves by volunteering… we know you’re busy! But many hands make light work… right?

Out of curiosity, what are the expected/assumed time commitments for the positions listed?
