Just a plug for volunteering… I’ve volunteered for the past couple years, and it’s a great way to network with other ARLIS/NA members. If you know stuff about Web 2.0 technologies, and can teach it to others… maybe those people will hire you someday! (No, seriously!)
Also, even though I taught others about things like Flickr, I ended up learning a lot of new tricks from the people I worked with last year!
